As I was saying at the outset, I make my pickups from scratch, I do not just import from the Pacific Rim and resell. There’s nothing wrong with importing and reselling, it’s just not what I do.
So, in this new version of the JD’s Guitar Works website and I have decided to include a page that gives you a better idea of what goes into winding pickups, the tools I use, including those I developed and fabricated like the CNC winder above.
It is still a work in progress, but I think you’ll get a bit of an appreciation for what is involved in building guitar pickups!
